A First Look At “The Wonder Years” Reboot Has Arrived!

We’ve met The Arnolds, now it’s time to meet The Williams family. ABC has given a 2021-2022 season order for the reboot of The Wonder Years.

The new version of “The Wonder Years” is a coming of age story set in the late 1960’s that takes a nostalgic look at a black middle-class family in Montgomery, Alabama through the point-of-view of imaginative 12 year-old Dean (Elisha “EJ” Williams). With the wisdom of his adult years, Dean’s hopeful and humorous recollections show how his family found their “wonder years” in a turbulent time.

Late past March, Williams was officially handed the torch by original Wonder Years star, Fred Savage via zoom, where he announced that Elijah had be given the role as lead. Check it out here: https://fb.watch/5vIR9GcMST/

Along with Williams, the series also stars Dule Hill [Psych] as Bill Williams, Saycon Sengbloh as Lillian Williams, Laura Kariuki [Black Lightening] as Kim Williams, Julian Lerner [Yes Day] as Brad Hitman, Amari O’Neil as Cory Long and Milan Ray as Keisa Clemmons. Don Cheadle will narrate as the adult version of Dean.

The series is still and productions and has no official release date yet but we will keep you posted as more develops.
