TAG [REVIEW]

Updated: Mar 3, 2023

Film: Tag Starring: Jeremy Renner, Ed Helms, Jake Johnson, Hannibal Buress, Rashida Jones, Leslie Bibb, Ilsa Fisher, Annabelle Wallis Director: Jeff Tomsic Review: Klep Napier Rating: 3.5X's out of 5X's Now this is just as awesome as it is ridiculous! Based on a true story straight out of the @Wsj #wallstreetjournal in 2013, comes the story about a few friends who believe that "We don't stop playing because we get old, we get old because we stop playing" - Ben Franklin. Or was it?

#Tag is the fun loving adult comedy that you can't help but to enjoy! The story follows five long time friends, lead by #Edhelms, who for 30 years, for only the month of May, have been playing the same game of tag. This was in attempt to keep them close together as friends but rivalries arrise since for 30 years one particular of the bunch #Jerry (#Jeremyrenner) has never been tagged 'It'. Hes just that good!

This May is different. This year all have teamed up in order to tag Jerry "IT" once and for all! But that's been the plan for years now and none have ever succeeded. The film delivers an fresh and hilarious take on friendship and the childish, ridiculous bond between young men. Outside of that the film has tons of heart and will get sentimental at times but even during softer moments you'll laugh straight through. Tag is the film for a guys night out with a nostalgic soundtrack for the early 90's hophop fans, from The Pharcyde to the Beastie Boys and A Tribe Called Quest! You'll be amazed at how true to the original story it gets. And that's what makes the ride all worth the while. I recommend you check this film out!
