Daredevil: Born Again Cast Confirms Season 2 Will Be Darker, Bloodier — and Finally ‘The Show We Wanted to Make'

"The Second Season Is The Show We Wanted To Make" -Vincent D'onofrio

Rhode Island Comic Con 2025 turned up the heat when Altered Reality Entertainment hosted a packed Daredevil: Born Again panel, featuring series stars Vincent D’Onofrio, Deborah Ann Woll, and Wilson Bethel. Fans filled the main hall for an exclusive conversation that not only reflected on the show’s evolution but also broke major news about Season 2, which Marvel Television confirmed will arrive March 4 2026.

The crowd erupted to a standing ovation for Marvel's Mayor of New York City as D’Onofrio (Kingpin) took the stage to thunderous applause, joined by Woll (Karen Page) and Bethel (Bullseye). Together, they dove deep into what makes the revival of Netflix’s beloved Daredevil universe so unique and what fans can expect when the story returns. The stars spoke candidly about their renewed creative control, the series’ tone, and the behind-the-scenes overhaul that reshaped Born Again into a truer continuation of the Netflix legacy.

D’Onofrio rehiterated that he and Charlie Cox fought to “stop a train in motion,” referring to the early creative direction that initially took Born Again off-course. Their persistence, along with Marvel’s willingness to pivot, brought the show back to its gritty, character-driven roots. “The second season is the show we wanted to make,” D’Onofrio said, adding that new directors Justin Benson and Aaron Moorhead (of Loki Season 2) helped steer the tone closer to the grounded realism fans love.

Midway through the discussion, talk turned to the Season 2 trailer, which debuted earlier at New York Comic Con. Audience members who’d seen it confirmed that it’s every bit as intense as rumored — packed with hard-hitting action, deeper emotional stakes, and a surprise cameo from Jessica Jones. Bethel compared the footage to “a city igniting,” promising that every storyline “feels alive and colliding.” Woll called the new season “heavy and brutal,” while D’Onofrio hinted that the tone returns to the grounded, raw tension that made the original Netflix series a fan favorite.

When asked about the shift in tone between seasons, Bethel described Born Again Season 2 as “the payoff” for everything built before. “If you were an OG fan who felt the first season didn’t quite get there,” he teased, “this one will make the wait worth it.” Woll added that the upcoming season balances intensity and emotion, saying it’s “heavy, brutal, and deeply personal”, while confirming the return of Foggy Nelson and hinting at cameos from the broader Netflix Marvel world, including Jessica Jones.

Beyond the creative revival, the actors shared rare insight into their on-set dynamics and mental preparation for such emotionally charged roles. D’Onofrio opened up about the personal memories that shaped his portrayal of Kingpin’s pain, revealing that “everything he says comes from one moment of real loss.” Woll spoke about finding balance through creative hobbies and humor, while Bethel credited the camaraderie of the cast for keeping the energy authentic and alive through grueling scenes.

For longtime fans, the message was clear, Born Again Season 2 will not only double down on the emotional weight and physical brutality that defined the original series, but it will also reestablish the moral tension and humanity that set it apart from Marvel’s other franchises. As D’Onofrio put it, “We just want the scenes to be right, to be great, to be grounded, and to mean something.”
