WILL SMITH EXPLAINS HE WAS HESITANT ABOUT TAKING THE ROLE OF GENIE IN 'ALADDIN'!

Last night on Tonight with Jimmy Fallon, Will Smith revealed why he was reluctant to step into Robin Williams' shoes to play Genie in Disney's live-action Aladdin.

"I got presented the idea to play the Genie in Aladdin, you know and the first thing is HELL NO! You know? its like, you know? With Robin Williams SMASHED that role you know? When you look at things like that you always try to find, like what would you do differently? What would you add to that? So I looked at it and the first thing was I didn't feel like I wanted to touch it"

Smith continued about when he met with the director and things began to come together including the tone of the music and shows how he brought Fresh Prince flavor to the role with a hip-hop update to "Friend Like Me." Check out the bit below:

Will still got it! We're pretty excited about the new tone of this story and look forward to checking it out. How about you CritiX? Let us know what you think!
