Updated: Jun 8, 2020

Just months after Director Scott Derrickson decided to exit the Doctor Strange sequel when creative differences surfaced between himself and Marvel Studios. Derrickson has found his next project in the form of a Labyrinth sequel.

"Marvel and I have mutually agreed to part ways on Doctor Strange: In the Multiverse of Madnessdue to creative differences. I am thankful for our collaboration and will remain on as EP."

Derrickson said in a tweet.

The Labyrinth sequel will be written by My Valentine scribe Maggie Levin, a production for TriStar Pictures which will be a direct follow up to the 1986 Jim Henson's film. No release date Has yet been confirme.

1986's Labyrinth movie starred David Bowie and Jennifer Connelly and has maintained an impressive cult following in th decades which have followed. Whispers of a sequel have long swirled but this is a major step toward the sequel coming to life. Since the 1986 film released, stories have followed it up in the form of tie-in novels, comic books, and video games.

No word from Jennifer Connelly just yet, who you can hear these days as the voice of MCU Peter Parkers suit A.I. named Karen. Also no word on if any other puppeteered cast members will be returning as well. One things for sure we will all remember and miss that legendary performance by the late David Bowey.

So what do you think? Are you excited about The Labyrinth seque?
