All’s fair when love is war. 'THE ROSES' Starring Olivia Colman, Benedict Cumberbatch Gets Official Trailer!

Searchlight has released the first trailer for “The Roses,” starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman. In this reimagining of the 1989 black comedy “The War of the Roses,” which originally starred Michael Douglas and Kathleeen Turner, “The Roses” is directed and produced by Jay Roach with a screenplay by Tony McNamara. Both films are inspired by Warren Adler’s 1981 novel “The War of the Roses.”

'The Roses' follows Ivy (Colman) and Theo (Cumberbatch), a seemingly perfect California couple with successful careers, great kids and a loving marriage. But when Theo’s career begins to nosedive as Ivy’s ambitions take off, their ideal life crumbles and the couple’s hidden resentments bubble to the surface.

The film also stars Andy Samberg, Allison Janney, Belinda Bromilow, Sunita Mani, Ncuti Gatwa, Jamie Demetriou, Zoë Chao, and Kate McKinnon.
