Netflix has been hitting home runs with their “Netflix Is A Joke” Campaign signing deals with some of the biggest comedians the entertainment world has to offer. From Adam Sandler to Kevin Hart there was no surprise that after the "Project Power" buzz, we would see Jamie Foxx next up to bat.
Dad, Stop Embarrassing Me, stars Jamie Foxx, Kyla-Drew, David Alan Grier (In Livin Color), Porscha Coleman (Wild N Out), Jonathan Kite (2 Broke Girls) Heather Hemmens (Roswell, New Mexico) and Valenta Rodriguez (George Lopez), and follows Brian (Foxx), a single dad and entrepreneur now raising his daughter (Drew) with the help from his freeloading father (Grier), his personal assistant (Hemmens) and his sister (Coleman). and with one teen surrounded by these adults, it is hilariously questionable about who‘s raising who?
The series is Executive Produced by Foxx and his daughter Corrine being loosely based on their Father/Daughter shenanigans, but it’s jam packed with slue of comedic veterans who help shape this roller coaster of family comedy out very well.
We had the opportunity to speak with a couple of very funny cast members from the show, Porscha Coleman (Aunt Chelsea) and Jonathan Kite (Johnny Williams) to hear what they had to say about their characters, working along side Foxx as he returns to his roots doing a sitcom, working with comedy legend David Alan Grier, and the message the series is bringing into our homes.
