Hit Video Game The Last Of Us Will Be Developed Into A Series For HBO.

It was announced today that HBO along with Sony Pictures Television will be bringing the hit video game The Last of Us to the small screen. The new series will be adapted from the popular video game where a smuggler in a post apocalyptic world acts as guardian to a girl as they travel in a world overrun by zombies. The two must overcome the struggle of dealing with zombies and humans alike.

The upcoming show will be created by no other then Craig Mazin, who created the popular Chernobyl mini series for HBO. Neil Druckmann the writer and creative director of the original game is also involved to maintain the integrity of the already established storyline. Mazin is a fan of Druckmann and had this to say about him.

“Neil Druckmann is without question the finest storyteller working in the video game medium, and the Last of Us is his magnum opus. Getting a chance to adapt this breathtaking work of art has been a dream of mine for years, and I’m so honored to do it in partnership with Neil.”
