Hunger Games Prequel In The Works!

Production has begun for a Hunger Games prequel based on the upcoming novel from Suzanne Collins. The announcement came Monday via a statement from Lionsgate Motion Picture Group.

“As the proud home of the Hunger Games movies, we can hardly wait for Suzanne’s next book to be published. We’ve been communication with her during the writing process and we look forward to continuing to work closely with her on the movie”

The upcoming Hunger Games novel, which has yet to be titled will be set 64 years prior to the original Hunger Games novels. Suzanne Collins recently gave a statement outlining the direction of her newest book.

“With this book, I wanted to explore the state of nature, who we are, and what we perceive is required for our survival. The reconstruction period ten years after the war, commonly referred to as the Dark Days. As the country of Panem struggles back to its feet it provides fertile ground for characters to grapple with these questions and thereby define their views of humanity.”

The upcoming Hunger Games film is still in it’s infancy without a cast or director. Writing for the film also has yet to begin with Suzanne Collins still completing the book. Once she is finished if Lionsgate continues to follow their formula; this upcoming Hunger Games film is sure to be a success.
