Marvel ‘Ironheart’ Series Taps Sam Bailey & Angela Barnes As Directors With Ryan Coogler As Producer

With all the positive hype surrounding the new and vaguely known superheroes of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, specifically Moon Knight, its only right that Marvel and Disney got the ball Rolling on press for more of their unknown, yet upcoming slate of heroes set to premiere on Disney+

Marvel’s Ironheart series, the next to introduce another vaguely known hero has set Sam Bailey (Grown-ish, The Chi) and Angela Barnes (Blindspotting, One Day at a Time) to direct for Disney+.

Ironheart will star Dominique Thorne as Marvel character Riri Williams, a genius inventor and creator of the most advanced suit of armor since Iron Man. Also said to be joining the cast by Deadline is In The Heights star Anthony Ramos. We have also learned that Black Panther Director Ryan Coogler’s production company, Proximity, has come on as producers.

Bringing in Coogler only makes more sense since, seeing that he will be the first to introduce Riri Williams into the Marvel Cinematic Universe in the highly anticipated sequel to Black Panther 2!

Coogler, Zinzi Coogler, Sev Ohanian and Chinaka Hodge will serve as executive producers alongside Marvel Studios’ Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Brad Winderbaum, and Zoie Nagelhout.
