This year’s New York Comic Con isn’t just about superheroes and fandom—it’s also spotlighting the people behind the curtain who bring your favorite stories to life. Impact24 PR is back with its signature Behind-the-Scenes Panels, giving attendees an inside look at how today’s most ambitious film, television, and musical projects come together. From Minecraft to Kiss of the Spider Woman, these conversations peel back the layers of the creative process, offering fans a chance to see how the magic truly happens.
One of the marquee events is the 3rd Annual Broadway to Hollywood: A Look at the New Age of Musicals, taking place Thursday, October 9th at 11:30 a.m. ET in Room 406.2 at the Javits Center. This panel explores the evolution of musicals as they move between stage and screen, spotlighting titles like 13 Going On 30 The Musical, Kiss of the Spider Woman, Redwood, Barbie The Movie In Concert, and more. Scenic designer Jason Ardizzone-West (Redwood, Jesus Christ Superstar), producer Wendy Federman (13 Going On 30 The Musical), editor Brian A. Kates (Kiss of the Spider Woman), and other top talents will share insights into translating stories into music-filled spectacles.

The discussion goes beyond glitz and glamour, delving into how orchestrators, editors, and designers collaborate to create show-stopping moments. With moderator Katharine Quinn, CEO of And That’s Showbiz, the panel promises to be a masterclass in how creative ideas leap from script to stage to screen. Fans of musicals will walk away with a deeper understanding of the artistry required to balance storytelling, performance, and spectacle in today’s most ambitious productions.
Later in the weekend, the spotlight shifts to the craft of television and film with Frame by Frame: Behind-the-Scenes with Hollywood’s Visual Storytellers, scheduled for Saturday, October 11th at 4:00 p.m. ET in the River Pavilion – Pro Stage 2 at the Javits Center. This session highlights creatives from The Handmaid’s Tale, SurrealEstate, Pam & Tommy, and even the upcoming Alien: Earth. Editor Annette Davey (Apple Cider Vinegar), cinematographer Bella Gonzales (Alien: Earth), and others will dive into the technical and artistic choices that shape the tone and impact of their projects. Moderated by ShadeTV’s Marissa Hill, it’s a chance to appreciate the unsung heroes who make storytelling vivid, frame by frame.

Adding to the energy of the convention is the Behind the Camera House’s Film, TV, & Broadway Creatives Meet Up, happening Thursday, October 9th, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. PT at Cedric’s at The Shed. This gathering invites creatives from across the entertainment spectrum to network, collaborate, and celebrate their craft. More than just a social event, it’s a reminder that the community of artists—from editors to orchestrators—thrives on connection and shared inspiration. Together, these panels and meet-ups showcase the heartbeat of entertainment: the collaboration between creatives who work tirelessly behind the camera or backstage. For fans, it’s a chance to see the artistry that fuels the films, shows, and musicals they love. For the industry, it’s a reminder of how much passion and precision goes into every frame and every note. At New York Comic Con 2025, the spotlight shines just as brightly on the makers as it does on the characters they create.
