The Evolution of Alex Cross

Created by executive producer and showrunner Ben Watkins, Cross is based on the iconic character from James Patterson’s best-selling Alex Cross novels. The series follows Aldis Hodge, who not only stars as the brilliant homicide detective and forensic psychologist Alex Cross, but also serves as executive producer. Cross’ superpower is his mind a unique ability to crawl inside the psyches of killers and see patterns no one else can.

Season One built a devoted fan base thanks to its gritty tone, layered storytelling, and psychological depth. Season Two is poised to raise the stakes even higher. This time, Alex is chasing a vigilante targeting corrupt billionaire elites, pushing him into murkier moral territory and forcing him to question the very concept of justice.

A Loaded Cast Joins the Hunt

Fans at NYCC were also treated to casting announcements that deepen the show’s already strong ensemble. Matthew Lillard, Jeanine Mason, and Wes Chatham join the Cross universe this season, while fan-favorites Isaiah Mustafa, Alona Tal, Samantha Walkes, Juanita Jennings, Caleb Elijah, Melody Hurd, and Johnny Ray Gill all return to their roles.

The chemistry and tension among this expanded cast promise new emotional layers and unpredictable alliances as the story unfolds.

A World Built for Thriller Fans

Cross is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Paramount Television Studios, with a powerhouse executive team including Watkins, Hodge, Sam Ernst, Jim Dunn, J. David Shanks, Aiyana White, Craig Siebels, Owen Shiflett, James Patterson, Bill Robinson, and Patrick Santa. The collaboration brings a cinematic quality to the series a mix of psychological suspense, procedural tension, and character-driven drama that stands apart in the crowded streaming landscape.

Why Season Two Matters

The original novels have always balanced sharp intellect with high-stakes tension, and Cross continues that legacy while modernizing the narrative for a new generation. At its core, the series explores not just the minds of killers, but the costs of obsession and the gray areas of justice themes that resonate deeply in today’s world.

With a fresh mystery, a sharpened edge, and a cast firing on all cylinders, Cross is set to deliver a sophomore season that could surpass the first in both scale and emotional impact.

Cross Season Two premieres February 11, 2026, exclusively on Prime Video, streaming in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
