Twenty years. It has been twenty years since Guillermo del Toro gave us one of the most visually stunning and emotionally devastating dark fantasy films ever made. And if you are going to be in San Diego this summer, Pan’s Labyrinth is about to remind you exactly why it still hits as hard today as it did in 2006.
The 20th anniversary celebration is coming to Comic-Con International San Diego 2026 in a big way. We are talking a Fetch Quest, a Hall H panel, a private signing and a party that sounds like something straight out of the Labyrinth itself. Here is everything you need to know.
The Fetch Quest Is Your Ticket to Something Very Special
This is the one you need to plan around first because the reward is not just cool, it is once in a lifetime.
Starting Thursday July 24 and running through Friday July 25 from 1pm to 2:30pm each day, a Pan’s Labyrinth Fetch Quest will be active on the convention floor. To get started you need to pick up a ticket at one of two booths. First stop is the Toynami booth at 4229 where a special surprise is waiting in celebration of the film’s anniversary. Second stop is the Insights Edition booth at 2129 where you can check out two official books dedicated to the legacy of the film.
Every single player who completes the quest walks away with a limited edition Pan’s Labyrinth poster. That alone is worth doing it.
But here is the part that should make you sprint to that booth the second the doors open. The first 50 players to complete the quest get access to a private poster signing with Guillermo del Toro himself on Saturday July 25. Not a general signing. A private one. With del Toro. For 50 people.
You already know what to do.
Hall H on Friday Is Going to Be Something Else
On Friday July 24 from 5:15pm to 6:15pm, Hall H becomes the Labyrinth for one hour and the lineup for this panel is genuinely special.
Guillermo del Toro will be joined by Doug Jones, who brought both the Faun and the terrifying Pale Man to life in the film, and Ivana Baquero, who played Ofelia in what remains one of the most powerful child performances in modern cinema. Together they are going to dig into the film’s legacy with exclusive behind the scenes footage and a 3D 4K scene preview that I am already not emotionally prepared for.
If you have never seen Pan’s Labyrinth on a big screen this panel is the closest you are going to get to that experience at SDCC. Do not miss it.
The Anniversary Party at PARQ Is the Move Friday Night
Right after the panel, at 7pm on Friday July 24, the celebration moves to PARQ at 615 Broadway and this is where things get genuinely special.
The venue is being transformed into the mystical realm of the Labyrinth itself for the evening.
There is a happy hour, a special screening of the film and then a live DJ set from Flying Lotus. If you know Flying Lotus you already understand why that pairing is absolutely perfect. If you do not, trust me, this is the right artist for this moment.
Friday night at SDCC 2026 just got a lot more interesting.
The Public Signing on Saturday Morning
For anyone who does not make it into the private 50 player signing from the Fetch Quest, there is still a chance to get in front of the people who made this film.
On Saturday July 25 at 10am in the Sails Pavilion at the San Diego Convention Center, Guillermo del Toro, Doug Jones and Ivana Baquero will be doing an exclusive signing together. All three of them. In one place. Get there early because this one is going to draw a line.
