Temuera Morrison who played Jango Fett in Attack of the Clones will take on the role of Boba Fett for the upcoming season of The Mandalorian. Boba Fett has been one of the most sought after characters by fans since his appearance in The Empire Strikes Back. The famed Star Wars bounty hunter now returns to join the cast of The Mandalorian. It is fitting for Morrison to play Boba who is an unaltered clone of Jango a character that was also played Morrison.
Finally fans may get a clear live action cannon explanation of how exactly Boba Fett avoided meeting his demise in Return of the Jedi via the Sarlacc pit. It was explained in alternate media but his appearance in The Mandalorian could potentially bring everything full circle. As of now it is unknown how large a role Boba will get in the show but this is exciting announcement nonetheless. The news on Boba Fett joining the cast comes on the heels of another exciting announcement that was made with Rosario Dawson portraying the popular Clone Wars character Ahsoka Tano. It will be interesting to see what these characters have in store for us in season 2 of The Mandalorian.
