The 2022 Golden Globes Promises Their Ceremony Will Be More Inclusive With This Years Nominees!

With the help from Rap superstar Snoop Dogg, the nominees for the Golden Globes were announced on Monday at a ceremony in Beverly Hills, California, as the Hollywood Foreign Press Association (HFPA) tries to diversify for audiences.

The 2021 awards were met with a load of backlash due to complaints about a lack of diversity in the nominations and the Hollywood Foreign Press Association itself, a relatively small group of entertainment reporters who choose the nominees.

This year's list of nominees across film and television include a more diverse group of actors and projects, including the Will Smith-led drama King Richard in Best Picture and Best Actor, Jane Campion's psychological thriller The Power of the Dog scoring multiple nominations (including Best Picture, Best Director, and acting honors for Benedict Cumberbatch, Kirsten Dunst, and Kodi Smit-McPhee), as well as Netflix's Squid Game earning two nominations for stars O Yeong-su and Lee Jung-jae atop its placement among the Best Television Series (Drama) nominees.

Now because of last years debacle, this years award ceremony will not air on prime time television. In-fact, winners will be announced on Sunday, Jan. 9, through a format which has yet to be announced.
