Disney introduces new Anime Series Premiering October 29 on Disney+ and Hulu

Disney is diving deep into anime again, and this time, they’re putting a wickedly fun twist on some of their most legendary villains. Disney Twisted-Wonderland: The Animation is set to premiere October 29 exclusively on Disney+ and Hulu, introducing audiences to a magical academy built on the dark legacies of the Queen of Hearts, Scar, Ursula, Jafar, the Evil Queen, Hades, and Maleficent.

Welcome to Night Raven College

The story follows Yuken Enma, a Tokyo high schooler who suddenly finds himself transported into the enchanted realm of Twisted-Wonderland. With no magic of his own and zero understanding of the world’s customs, Yuken stumbles straight into the halls of Night Raven College an elite academy where students live in dorms inspired by Disney’s most infamous villains.

Trouble quickly finds him in the form of two mischievous classmates, Ace and Deuce, whose antics only pull Yuken deeper into the chaos. Between trying to survive the wrath of Riddle Rosehearts the Rose-Red Tyrant who rules with an iron fist and searching for a way back home, Yuken is about to learn that this fairy-tale world is as dangerous as it is dazzling.

A Growing Disney Anime Universe

Twisted-Wonderland isn’t just another anime adaptation it’s part of Disney’s growing push into the medium. It joins the upcoming Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 and a slate of buzzy titles available through Hulu on Disney+, including Murai in Love, The Fable, Go! Go! Loser Ranger!, and the newly added Cat’s Eye. With more anime than ever hitting the platform, Disney is clearly aiming to make its bundle a must-have for anime fans.

Why Fans Should Pay Attention

The series isn’t just a nod to the original Twisted-Wonderland mobile game that gained a cult following; it’s also Disney’s bold step into remixing their own legacy. By building an entire world around the ethos of its villains, Disney is offering something darker, more stylish, and tailor-made for anime audiences who crave a fresh spin on familiar icons.

Between its October 29 premiere, the mix of classic Disney villainy, and the anime fanbase ready to pounce, this series could easily be Disney’s next streaming obsession.
