Jamie Foxx to reprise his role as “Electro” in Sony/Marvel Studios’ Spiderman 3!

This week Marvel had dropped a bomb on their fans with the announcement of casting new comer Iman Venalli as Ms. Marvel, but now, this latest news is sure to have everyone asking themselves what in the world are Marvel Studios and Sony up to?

The Hollywood Reporter has reported that Marvel Studios' Spider-Man 3 is bringing back Jamie Foxx's villain Electro. Foxx initially played the character in Sony'sThe Amazing Spider-Man 2opposite Andrew Garfield, who portrayed Peter Parker. However, when Amazing Spider-Man 2 underperformed and stalled out Sony's Marvel franchise, Foxx's villain was sidelined along with all the other versions of the characters introduced inThe Amazing Spider-Man.

Since then, Sony teamed up with Marvel Studios to reboot the wall-crawling superhero, and Tom Holland debuted as the Marvel Cinematic Universe's Spider-Man in Captain America: Civil War. He's since reprised the role in two Avengers movies as well as two solo Spidey films, Spider-Man: Homecoming and Spider-Man: Far From Home. He's next set to appear in the as-yet-untitled Spider-Man 3.

Now, THR is reporting that Foxx is in final talks to appear in Marvel Studios' Spider-Man 3 as the villain Electro.
