First off I have to give a HUGE shout out to Todd McFarlane and McFarlane Toys. These figures that have been dropping I've enjoyed a lot especially this Dark Knight Returns Collection.

This iteration of Superman is jacked! Anybody that has read the graphic novel definitely remembers how massive Clark was and McFarlane toys captured that in this mold. Even with this body mold as big as it is, you still get a good range of articulation with him. Do we get a wide range of articulation? No, but it will be able to do the basic Superman movements you want.

Me personally, I've always liked how we see an older superman. Its a distinct look. He isn't a spring chicken anymore. He's been through some things in his years and McFarlane toys captured that in the head sculpt. One minor downside on this figure I would say is the cape. I'm not a fan of flat one shade of red. Its not completely unbearable, but maybe another shade of red or a light black wash would've have brought out the creases a little more. I think that little detail could have made a huge difference .

We also get that frank miller House of El symbol across the chest. The alternate pair of hands was a nice addition to this figure also . The detail added into the creases leave a cartoon realness to this that I was extremely surprised with and really love. They work well if you're trying to put him in some fighting poses with Batman or any other figure attempting to duke it out with the man of steel.

This Superman is a great addition to any McFarlane Toys collection, if you're in need of a different version of Superman for a Superman collection, display piece, etc.. This is a nice figure and highly recommended.
